'삼승'의 첫 앨범 <상상도>가 2020년 12월 디지털로, 2021년 1월 12인치 바이닐로 발매됩니다. 삼승은 드러머 서경수, 작곡가 이민휘, 판화가 최경주가 각자 소리와 그림을 만들고, 서로의 추상을 뒤섞고 변형시키는 공동 프로젝트입니다.

<맞선>, <맹점>, <울상>, <황당한 면>, <못 볼 꼴>, <빈축>, <안 될 각>

조금씩 비틀어진 일곱 개의 제목에서 알 수 있듯이, 세 사람의 취향은 엄격함보다 느슨함에, 경험을 넘어선 직관에, 평면이 확장된 레이어에 포개어져 있습니다. 이 공통분모 안에서 최경주의 스케치는 어떻게 개념이 시각화 되는지, 이민휘와 서경수의 소리는 그 조형적 드러남을 어떻게 음악적 구조로 번역할 수 있을지 고민했고, <상상도>는 그 고민들의 첫 번째 결과물입니다. (@cubed_2020)

The first album 'Imaginary Scheme' by (   )³—“cubed”—a collective project by drummer Kyungsoo Seo, composer Minhwi Lee, and print artist Kyungjoo Choi, is going to be released in 12" vinyl in January 2021. The artists have created, interwoven and transformed sound and images while referencing one another’s abstract.

Line Arrangement, Blind Spot, Depressed Image, Ridiculous Face, Figure Unwatchable, Empty Axis, and Angle Non Sense; the somewhat oblique titles attest to the three’s interests that come together in looseness rather than rigidity, in intuition that transcends experience, in layers that extend surfaces. Operating on these common denominators, Choi's sketches question how to visualize concepts while the sounds of Lee and Seo explore how to manifest visual expressions into musical structures; ideas expressed as the sound of piano and drums were then transformed again into colors, lines, surfaces, and textures.
